1. About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of luajewellery.com (the "Site") and any purchase you make through it. The Site is operated by LUA Jewellery ("LUA", "we", "us"), based in Auckland, New Zealand. By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

2. Products

Our jewellery is handcrafted in small numbers, and many pieces are one of a kind. Natural gemstones and freshwater pearls vary in colour, pattern, and shape — the piece you receive may differ slightly from the photographs, and that variation is part of its character. We take care to describe and photograph every piece accurately, but screen colours can vary.

3. Pricing

All prices are in New Zealand dollars (NZD) and include GST where applicable. Prices may change at any time, but changes won't affect orders we've already confirmed. If a piece is listed at an obviously incorrect price due to an error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full — we'll always contact you first.

4. Orders and payment

• Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
• Your order is an offer to purchase. We accept it when we confirm dispatch — until then, we may decline or cancel an order (for example, if a one-of-a-kind piece has just sold, or a pricing error has occurred), in which case we'll refund you in full promptly.
• You must provide accurate contact and shipping details. We aren't responsible for delivery problems caused by incorrect information you've supplied.

5. Shipping

Shipping timeframes, rates, and the free-shipping threshold are set out in our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

6. Returns

Change-of-mind returns and faulty-item remedies are set out in our Returns Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

7. Consumer law

If you're buying for personal use, the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 applies to your purchase, and the Fair Trading Act 1986 applies to our dealings with you. Nothing in these Terms limits, excludes, or modifies your rights under those Acts — they apply regardless of anything else written here.

8. Intellectual property

All content on the Site — designs, photographs, text, and the LUA name and branding — belongs to us or our licensors. You may not reproduce or use it commercially without our written permission. Sharing a piece you love on social media, with credit, is always welcome.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, and without limiting your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act, our total liability in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in this section applies where the law says it can't.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and handle your personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 2020.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on the Site when you place an order is the one that applies to that order.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and any dispute will be dealt with in the New Zealand courts (or the Disputes Tribunal, where applicable).
